If you want to get rid of this burning sensation quickly, take a little wood ash in warm water. Should you not wish to take the ash like this, place it in a soft cloth, tie it up, pour boiling water over this and drink the lye you have just made. Charcoal is also good as a neutraliser and is available where wood is burned. But if you also find this treatment unpalatable, drink raw potato juice which has been diluted with a little warm water. Dry rolled oats, when chewed and insalivated well, are another good remedy to neutralise acid. Centaury tea or drops (Centaurium) are marvellous for heartburn and have a healing effect at the same time, whereas raw milk, although beneficial too, only treats the symptoms. If you follow the suggestions given here, it will be easy to stop the burning sensation that results from eating the wrong things.
