The chances of healing the disease are also very poor if the patient has been given radiation treatment, and I would warn patients never to resort to this particular therapy.
Skin eruptions, including psoriasis, are generally curable if the patient perseveres with the treatment until the disease is completely healed. However, if you handle skin irritants, such as terpenes, turpentine, turpentine floor wax or other strong turpentine products, the stimulus can provoke a relapse.
Psoriasis is not infectious and cannot be spread from one person to another. It is, however, possible to pass it on to one’s children through the genes. For this reason such children should be given prophylactic treatment. Make sure that they have plenty of calcium and vitamins in their diet and take proper care of their skin. For further advice on treatment follow the recommendations outlined in the section on eczema.
